Proclaiming it will revolutionize productivity, DJI has touted the AI agent developed by its CEO, Jack Dorsey’s company, Block. But it begs the question, is it just another notion to incrementally squeeze more productivity out of all of us?”

Look at this: productivity has yet again evolved. The proponents might argue it will innovate the way we work and squeeze the sloth right out of us. Thanks to Block, CEO Jack Dorsey’s company, we’re introduced to a new AI agent, DJI. While it promises to drive a revolution in productivity, skepticism has weaseled its way into the dialogue—rightly so.

In the enthused arena of technology, boosting productivity is the equivalent of hunting for the Holy Grail. Right from the era of automation to the inception of AI, each revolution has vouched to turn us into work machines, removing redundant tasks from our plates. Entrepreneurs and visionaries have chased the promise of transformative productivity, and true to form, Jack Dorsey has jumped into the fray with Block’s latest gambit.

Claiming the AI to be a tool for productivity must have sent a non-negligible frisson of excitement through the heartland of technocrats. However, let’s keep the sarcasm aside for a fraction of a second—a company’s CEO developing an AI to improve his own company’s productivity could be construed as ingenious or self-serving, depending on the angle of perception. But undeniably, Mr. Dorsey has attempted to stick by the age-old adage—charity begins at home.

Perhaps what brings a smile to the lips is the transparency—or lack thereof—in the claims. While transparency is often the last refuge of the entrepreneur, in this case, it’s brazenly flouted. The specifics of how this AI agent actually boosts productivity are about as clear as mud. The blog doesn’t go into detail, leaving the technology community to speculate about the inner workings of this alleged productivity booster.

It’s positively delightful to see companies harness the power of artificial intelligence for productivity. However, the question remains; are we content with merely becoming more efficient cogs in the work machine, or do we still dare to dream about leveraging technology to push the frontiers of what’s humanly possible?

As always, innovation comes served with seasoned intrigue. Only time will reveal how DJI’s AI Agent delivers on promises of productivity boost, or potentially just innovates ways to make our workdays more exhausting. Until then, we continue our quest for the Holy Grail of productivity, half wondering if it may very well be a mirage. And in the meantime, let’s just get back to ‘actual’ work, shall we?

Read the original article here: https://www.wired.com/story/jack-dorseys-block-made-an-ai-agent-to-boost-its-own-productivity/

In the quest for “work-ridding” productivity, Block introduces DJI’s AI Agent, an innovation promising revolution, or possibly another way to squeeze our work hours.

[1

post-2532","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-uncategorized","bwp-masonry-item","bwp-col-3
["GET
