He did not, however, credit the photographer, or Kate Middleton, whose face, quite literally, was in the picture.” So, here we are revisiting an incident that confirms that in the digital age – and especially in the world of fashion and celebrity – things are not always as they seem.<\/p>\n
It wasn’t just any old image that Palomo Spain posted onto his high-profile Instagram account, oh no, it was a shot strategically edited to superimpose Duchess Kate Middleton’s face onto the model. A face-swap of sorts, but without the mutual agreement or amusement that usually comes with most Snapchat filters.<\/p>\n
Would you believe it, there was an omission of suitable accreditation. No hat-tip to the photographer. No nod to Middleton her royal self, whose countenance gloriously filled the frame. In the era of digital transformation, image editing skills have become almost as essential as the ability to take a decent photograph. But as the incident involving Palomo and the Duchess certainly illustrates, some people clearly still have a lot to learn.<\/p>\n
So, the moral of the story for all aspiring Photoshop artists and Instagram influencers out there: If you’re planning a high-profile face swap, at least have the decency to do it properly.
