OpenAI Tiptoes into the Realm of Ethical AI-Driven Adult Content Creation

“OpenAI Is ‘Exploring’ How to Responsibly Generate AI Porn”

“As with any technology, the power of AI can be used for good or for ill. OpenAI’s transformer models, which use machine learning to generate human-like text, could potentially write steamy, X-rated narratives that are utterly convincing. But the company is going to great lengths to prevent that.” Wired’s piece- hit the nail on the head about the “varied” potential uses of AI.

Pull up your socks as one dives headfirst into the rampant world of AI! Remember those hyper-realistic text-based erotica and AI-generated adult dimensions buzzing around the internet? If one was hoping that OpenAI might pave the way into an AI-infused fantasy world, then sadly it’s time for a slight reality check.

Why, you ask? Well, it’s rather striking to notice, isn’t it, that while AI can quickly draft up an epically choreographed space odyssey, strong measures are implemented so that it does not spill over into an erotica? The boundaries couldn’t be more clearly outlined. ‘Write about aliens invading Earth, but oh no, no steamy scenes, please’. It’s like those parents who let you watch action flicks, but cover your eyes during love scenes.

Miscreants that could use these ‘steamy, X-rated narratives’ for all the wrong reasons could give AI a bad name. But still, the disparity is noticeable. Can OpenAI’s transformer models become the next J.K. Rowling? Absolutely. The next E.L. James? Not a chance. How’s that for a technological contradiction? Oh, well, this is the paradox wrapped up in the world of AI.

But, let’s step into the shoes of OpenAI for a moment. After all, who would want powerfully convincing, X-rated narratives floated around under their banner, right? It’s always a slippery slope when ventures into such ‘interesting’ territories (ahem)! Ethical considerations inevitably come into play, and the firm doesn’t seem eager to act like hormonal teenagers, exploring parts unknown.

Emphasising though, that obviously, it’s not as dramatic as it sounds. OpenAI’s model does not censor all content of an adult nature – just the explicit subsets that could potentially cause harm. Winnie the Pooh getting honey-drunk on fermented nectar- not censored. ‘Fifty Shades of Pooh’- censored. One gets the picture!

But here’s a thought. Quoted directly from the article, “As part of the same research, OpenAI also confirmed that its language models can generate text that’s nearly indistinguishable from human writing.” So, to all those who have managed to keep the tinfoil hats at bay – Fear not! AI is not yet venturing into the realm of steamy literature!

Still, it’s heartbreaking (or liberating, depending on who you ask) that AI, with all this ridiculous power to formulate text on par with human authors, can’t add a little mischief to our dreary lives. Alas! The good, the bad, the steamy – all part of the package if you’re playing in the field of AI!
